Reduce your Required Minimum Distribution(RMD) from your IRA. If you are over 70 ½ years of age and are taking RMDs from your IRA, you can avoid paying taxes on the amount you donate directly from your IRA when taken as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). QCD can be for an amount less than your full RMD. Contact your broker or holder of your IRA to set up a QCD BEFORE taking your RMD.
